Ninjas in Pyjamas GM Björn ‘THREAT’ Pers departs
Björn “THREAT” Pers, 38, has left Ninjas in Pyjamas after three spells with the club since 2016, saying he did not want a role without performance-related work and is weighing options.
Björn “THREAT” Pers, the 38-year-old general manager at Swedish esports organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas, announced he parted ways with the club earlier this year. He cited a preference for roles that include direct work on team performance.
Pers first joined Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2016 as head coach. He returned to the organisation across three separate spells, taking on a range of positions connected to the club’s competitive operations and coaching structure.
On the social platform X, Pers wrote: “Earlier this year, I made the difficult decision to part ways with NIP. The main reason was that I didn’t want to be in a role where performance-related work wasn’t part of what I do. That’s something that matters a lot to me.”
He added he is still deciding his next steps and is open to opportunities both inside esports and outside the industry. “As for what’s next, I’m still figuring that out, whether that’s within esports or beyond it,” he wrote.
Ninjas in Pyjamas has not issued a public statement about Pers’s departure. His exit ends an ongoing association with the Swedish club that included hands-on responsibilities for team preparation and strategic direction.
