Ninjas in Pyjamas GM Björn ‘THREAT’ Pers Departs
Ninjas in Pyjamas general manager Björn ‘THREAT’ Pers has left the organization to return to performance-related work after three separate spells with NiP since 2016.
Björn “THREAT” Pers, the general manager of Swedish esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas, has left the club. The 38-year-old confirmed he parted ways earlier this year and said he wants to return to work directly involved with team performance.
Pers made the announcement in a post on X, explaining the primary reason for his exit was the absence of performance-related responsibilities in his role. He did not give a specific date for when the split took place beyond saying it occurred earlier this year.
Pers first joined Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2016 as head coach. He returned to the organization on two further occasions and held several roles that combined coaching and management before his most recent tenure as general manager.
In his message on X, Pers wrote: “Earlier this year, I made the difficult decision to part ways with NIP. The main reason was that I didn’t want to be in a role where performance-related work wasn’t part of what I do. That’s something that matters a lot to me. As for what’s next, I’m still figuring that out, whether that’s within esports or beyond it.”
Pers said he is evaluating options both inside esports and outside the industry and did not confirm any concrete offers. Ninjas in Pyjamas has not issued a comment and has not named a successor to Pers as general manager.
Pers leaves NiP with experience across coaching and executive positions accumulated over three separate periods with the organization. His next steps have not been announced.
