Neityu: FaZe has strong fundamentals despite limited practice

FaZe advanced to the Esports World Cup playoffs in Paris with wins over BetBoom and Legacy and will meet Vitality in the first-round knockout on Thursday. The club added Ryan “Neityu” Aubry to the roster permanently after an initial loan spell.

Neityu moved from a loan to a full roster spot earlier this month and said he learned of the decision during the player break. He described relief when the signing was announced and that he had felt part of the lineup in recent months.

He credited improvements to the coaching staff led by Niclas “enkay J” Krumhorn, analyst preparation, Twistzz’s work as in-game leader and a recent bootcamp. Neityu also pointed to growing chemistry after JBOEN joined the roster about a month ago and noted strong individual performances from teammates such as jcobbb.

FaZe’s recent results include top-four finishes at Bounty and XSE and the wins that secured playoff qualification. The team’s match against Spirit at Bounty ended in a close loss that Neityu described as decided by a few costly rounds.

Neityu said the squad has had limited practice together but that the basics are solid and the team is improving day by day. He outlined the immediate objective as qualifying for the Major and returning to higher world rankings.

With several days before playoff play, the team plans to review match footage, practice and use team time to strengthen communication and chemistry. Neityu added the break would include both training and downtime, such as team dinners, to prepare for the knockout rounds.
