MOUZ defeated BETBOOM 2-0 in the IEM Beijing semifinal, winning Ancient 13-7 and Mirage 13-8. The result kept MOUZ unbeaten on maps at the tournament.
BETBOOM opened Ancient with a 4-0 lead, led by early kills from Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov and Pavel “S1ren” Ogloblin. MOUZ coach Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen called a timeout, and MOUZ then improved its defensive coordination. The team moved ahead before halftime, with Dorian “xertioN” Berman leading the recovery.
MOUZ controlled the second half and closed the map without allowing BETBOOM to regain the lead. XertioN finished the series with 40 kills, while Oldřich “PR” Nový recorded 35.
Mirage was tied at halftime after MOUZ began with several successful attacks on the B site. BETBOOM responded through Boombl4 and Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko. Its aggressive defense challenged MOUZ’s site executions, but MOUZ continued to use set plays to maintain pressure.
PR gave MOUZ an early advantage in the second half by eliminating four BETBOOM players with USP headshots during a B-site rush. MOUZ converted the round and extended its lead before closing the map 13-8.
The semifinal featured the same first two maps as the teams’ group-stage meeting, when MOUZ also won Ancient and Mirage. BETBOOM was eliminated from the event, while MOUZ advanced to face The MongolZ in the IEM Beijing grand final.
