MOUZ secure BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals spot

MOUZ secured a place in the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals with a 2-0 victory over FOKUS in the online group stage. The team won Dust2 13-10 and Mirage to clinch qualification.

On Dust2, MOUZ built an early lead after taking a round that came from two saved weapons and a coordinated defence through Middle, moving to 6-3 on a three-round run. FOKUS recovered two rounds in Middle, but after the side switch MOUZ won the pistol, reached double digits and closed the map 13-10.

On Mirage FOKUS led 3-1 before MOUZ’s T side, led by Dorian ‘xertioN’ Berman, erased the advantage. MOUZ won most opening duels and restricted FOKUS’s impact to pistol rounds and conversions. Matias ‘Banjo’ Kivistö recorded a Dualies ace on Mirage for FOKUS.

Ádám ‘torzsi’ Torzsás finished the match 36-18 with a 1.49 rating, including a quick flick that turned a losing round and a later round won with a Five-SeveN on a low-buy. xertioN posted 32-31 with a 1.22 rating. Lotan ‘Spinx’ Giladi and Adrian ‘xelex’ Vincz recorded 33-25 (1.19) and 30-20 (1.16) lines respectively. Newcomer Oldřich ‘PR’ Nový ended 24-28 with a 0.93 rating and produced several notable moments while struggling for consistency.

For FOKUS, Banjo finished 30-31 with a 1.11 rating. Jacob ‘jocab’ Nerheden (24-31, 0.89), Mateo ‘Matheos’ Prišlin (24-33, 0.85), Erik ‘ztr’ Gustafsson (21-33, 0.74) and Paavo ‘podi’ Heiskanen (22-27, 0.67) all recorded ratings below 1.00.

MOUZ are the first team ranked in the VRS top 10 to qualify for the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals from the online group stage. The tournament now moves to the Finals stage. FOKUS will need additional group-stage wins to remain in contention for advancement.
