Monte win boosts Europe to 18 Major slots; Legacy withdraws

Monte’s win over paiN raises Europe to 18 slots for the Singapore Major; Brazilian team Legacy will miss next month’s XSE Pro League in China due to passport issues.

Monte beat paiN at IEM Cologne, moving Europe to 18 team slots for the upcoming Singapore Major. The result reduces the Americas’ guaranteed invites by at least one.

Current projections list Europe with 18 slots; the Americas with eight or nine; and Asia with five or six. Final allocations depend on the outcomes of remaining matches at Cologne.

Brazilian roster Legacy confirmed it will not attend next month’s XSE Pro League in China because of passport problems. Legacy had been scheduled to face M80 in the first round of the $1 million event. Organizers will continue the bracket without the team.

Legacy and TYLOO are meeting in Stage 2 of IEM Cologne. If Legacy lose to TYLOO, the Americas will lose an additional invitation to the Singapore Major.

Jonas “calc” Gundersen of Astralis and the Astralis organization criticized online harassment aimed at players after their loss at Cologne. Gundersen wrote on X: “Disappointment is something we all feel, especially them. But please stop this insanity, and show respect for others, and if you partake in online harassment seriously re-evaluate your life. No matter the results, we are all just humans trying our best.”

Organizers and teams are awaiting the Legacy–TYLOO result to finalise regional slot counts. Legacy’s withdrawal removes one expected competitor from the Chinese LAN bracket and will affect which teams get direct entry to Singapore.
