Monte begins roster rebuild with sdy return

Monte has announced Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev as the first player in its new Counter-Strike lineup after selling its previous core to Luminosity.

sdy represented Monte from January 2023 through February 2024 and helped the team reach the playoffs at the BLAST.tv Paris Major.

Monte’s new lineup competed in the Stake Ranked open qualifier, with Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen as coach and Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski in the AWP role. Alexander “br0” Bro, Cai “CYPHER” Watson and Vladyslav “St0m4k” Lykhoshva also played in the qualifier, where Monte were eliminated by Aurora Young Blud.

Before returning to Monte, sdy played for Passion UA on loan from ENCE. He had been ENCE’s in-game leader before the organization rebuilt around Finnish players.

Monte is rebuilding after transferring its previous core to Luminosity. The organization has also faced allegations of unpaid salaries. Former Monte player Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras described payment problems as recurring and claimed that Monte owed him tens of thousands of dollars. Monte later disputed the amount in a statement.
