MongolZ beat B8 2-0 at IEM Cologne

The MongolZ defeated B8 2-0 in group-stage play at IEM Cologne, winning Mirage 16-14 after overtime and Overpass 13-3. The result put MongolZ at 1-1 in their pool and left B8 at 0-2.

On Mirage, Usukhbayar 910 Banzragch opened the match with a 12-0 run, helping MongolZ to a 10-2 half. B8 recovered on the Terrorist side late, and a late ace from Danylo s1zzi forced overtime. In overtime, MongolZ secured a Terrorist round after an A-smoke execute and a three-kill from Ayush mzinho, then won all three CT overtime rounds to close the map 16-14. With the loss, B8 extended their Mirage losing streak to five matches.

Overpass was more one-sided. MongolZ began on the Terrorist side and led 3-0 early, then carried momentum into the defensive half to reach 9-3. Anarbileg cobrazera produced a three-kill to make it 10-3, and MongolZ finished the map 13-3.

Individual numbers reflected the match flow. For MongolZ, 910 finished with 40 kills, a 77.3 ADR and a 1.42 rating. Cobrazera had 33 kills, an 81.3 ADR and a 1.35 rating. Mzinho added 33 kills and a 71.1 ADR with a 1.10 rating. Garidmagnai bLitz posted 31 kills and an 86.2 ADR, and Sodbayar Techno contributed 28 kills.

B8’s top performers were s1zzi with 32 kills and a 1.06 rating and Artem kensizor with 32 kills and a 1.05 rating. Andrii npl finished 30-36 with a 0.92 rating. Alexey alex666 had 22 kills and a 0.75 rating, while Dmytro esenthial recorded 25 kills and a 0.70 rating.

MongolZ arrived in Germany after a period of practice and after a 2-1 loss to BetBoom on the event’s opening day. The team is ranked ninth in the world and is seeking a fourth straight Major playoff appearance. B8 will play additional pool matches at IEM Cologne as they attempt to recover from consecutive losses.
