MIBR targets Stage 3 as kl1m loan decision looms
After a 2-1 start at the Major, MIBR aims for Stage 3 while captain LNZ says the team will not depend solely on insani or loaned kl1m.
MIBR recovered from an opening loss to THUNDER dOWNUNDER with wins over TYLOO and Liquid, leaving the team 2-1 at the Major ahead of its first best-of-three match tomorrow. Captain Linus LNZ Holtäng said the squad’s goal is to reach Stage 3 and that the lineup will not rely solely on insani or the loaned Klimentii kl1m Krivosheev.
LNZ attributed the loss to THUNDER dOWNUNDER to a lack of proactive play and poor economic control on Inferno’s CT side. The team regrouped and posted consecutive wins, carrying confidence from recent results including a fourth-place finish at the Copenhagen Asia Championship.
Kl1m is on loan from G2 and his deal expires at the end of the Major. Reports indicate G2 is open to offers for the player. If kl1m leaves, LNZ would become the only international on MIBR’s roster. Any long-term decision on kl1m’s status will be handled by the two organizations after the event.
‘I’m not worried at all. If he stays or if they choose a Brazilian player, I don’t really mind. For me, I just want the team to be the best it can be,’ LNZ told reporters after the match.
LNZ and coach LETN1 have aligned their systems around proactive tactics and defined roles so all five players can contribute. LNZ praised kl1m’s recent form, noting the player has taken control in several games and delivered key performances.
MIBR’s immediate priority is the upcoming best-of-three and maintaining a balanced approach rather than depending on individual standout games. LNZ set a personal target to reach Stage 3 after falling short of that mark at his last Major with HEROIC.
