Metizport keeps MaiL09 under contract; KOI eyes CS return

Metizport confirms Liam “MaiL09” Tügel is under contract until next summer with no loan option; Movistar KOI plans a Counter‑Strike rebuild and Black Molly schedules Stake Pulse Beat LAN for July 31–Aug 5.

Metizport has confirmed that Liam “MaiL09” Tügel remains under contract until next summer and will not be sent out on loan. Sports director Morten “zEVES” Vollan Christensen said a loan would reduce the club’s chance of securing a transfer fee and that the organisation has concrete plans whether MaiL09 returns to the squad or a club meets Metizport’s asking price. “Liam has a contract with us until the summer next year,” zEVES explained. “So if he goes on loan for another season, there’d be a much smaller chance to get something economically beneficial.” Christensen added the club tried to reach terms with the team where MaiL09 has been playing but the parties could not agree, so MaiL09 will remain a Metizport player unless a satisfactory offer arrives.

Movistar KOI co‑owner Ibai Llanos announced on his stream that the organisation intends to return to Counter‑Strike and also expand into Valorant. KOI has been without a CS team since the end of 2024 after parting ways with its previous roster, which now competes under Gentle Mates. Llanos said KOI will work to assemble new rosters and aims to be active in both titles during the summer or afterwards: “We will try to be in Counter‑Strike without a doubt. Hopefully, during this summer or afterwards, we will be in Counter‑Strike and Valorant. We will fight to make it happen, without a doubt.”

Black Molly Entertainment confirmed the Stake Pulse Beat LAN will take place in Stockholm from July 31 through August 5. The event was moved forward from an earlier August 4–9 window. An open qualifier for two main‑event spots is scheduled for June 30–July 1. The tournament carries a $60,000 prize pool and is one of three tier‑2 LANs that Black Molly plans to host in Stockholm this year.

Metizport’s contract with MaiL09 gives the club control over transfer and retention decisions until next summer. If no offer meets Metizport’s terms, the player will stay on the roster for the contract term. KOI’s statement follows the organisation’s exit from the CS scene at the end of 2024 and its intention to reestablish teams in both Counter‑Strike and Valorant. Black Molly has expanded its live event calendar in Stockholm with multiple tier‑2 LANs scheduled for the year.
