Metastack raises seed round led by Fil Rouge Capital

Esports education startup Metastack raised a seed round led by Fil Rouge Capital, with angel participation from the Digital Serbia Initiative and Croatian Business Angels Network.

Esports education and software startup Metastack has closed a seed funding round led by early-stage venture capital firm Fil Rouge Capital. Angel investors included representatives from the Digital Serbia Initiative and the Croatian Business Angels Network. The company did not disclose financial terms. The capital will be used to scale marketing, expand centralised tactical content datasets and speed development of player improvement tools.

Metastack offers a unified esports workspace and learning platform aimed at helping players and teams organise game knowledge and discover tactical content. The company positions the product as a ‘Google Workspace for competitive gaming,’ combining strategic playbooks, map utilities and performance metrics in a single interface.

The founding team comprises CEO Mihajlo Petrovic, a former Counter-Strike coach; CTO Miloš Nikić, a senior software engineer and former semi-professional player; and VP of Engineering Sava Vidaković. The startup’s advisory board includes Minh Le, co-creator of the original Counter-Strike franchise.

Fil Rouge Capital noted the investment addresses a gap in grassroots tactical tools that serve everyday players and lower-tier teams, while the global esports industry has grown at higher levels. Metastack explained on LinkedIn that it views current esports training infrastructure as comparable to basketball in the 1960s and 1970s, an early stage of organised training and coaching.

The funding announcement follows institutional recognition for Metastack. The company won first place at the Katapult Accelerator Demo Day as part of the Katapult 2026 cohort. The accelerator runs under Serbia’s Innovation Fund and receives joint investment support from the Republic of Serbia’s Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, the World Bank Group and the European Union.

Metastack plans to use the new capital to grow its user base through enhanced marketing, broaden tactical datasets to cover more games and scenarios, and accelerate product work on tools meant to help individual players and teams improve. No funding figures were released. The company’s recent funding and accelerator win mark further activity within Serbia’s technology ecosystem as it develops tools for standardising tactical knowledge and performance analysis in competitive gaming.
