MAJ3R steps down from Aurora roster to focus on family
Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli has left Aurora’s active roster to pause competition and focus on family; the club confirmed he will stay with Aurora and a new role will be announced.
Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli has stepped down from Aurora’s active roster to take a break from professional competition and focus on his family, Aurora announced. The club confirmed he will remain with Aurora and that details of his next role will be revealed soon.
In a post on X, MAJ3R called the decision difficult and said the pause was needed for his family life. He wrote that while it was not an easy choice to pause competing, “being a dad and a husband is very important to me, and this is where I want to focus more in the future.”
MAJ3R joined Aurora in April 2025 and captained the starting five for more than a year. He signed alongside Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş, Özgür “woxic” Eker, Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın and others. During his time as captain the team reached the finals at Esports World Cup 2025 and ESL Pro League Season 23, finished in the top four at the IEM Cologne Major, and won PGL Masters Bucharest 2025. The Bucharest title was the first major trophy for MAJ3R at the CS:GO/CS2 level.
The change in the active roster follows the recent departure of coach Sezgin “Fabre” Kalaycı. There is speculation the organization may pursue an international roster composition. Aurora’s active lineup currently lists Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş, Özgür “woxic” Eker, Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın and Caner “soulfly” Kesici.
Aurora did not name an immediate replacement for MAJ3R. The club said it will provide further information about his new role and any roster changes in the coming days.
