Magic eliminate 3DMAX 2-0 in EWC Group D on French soil

Magic eliminated 3DMAX from the EWC Group D lower bracket with a 2-0 win on French soil, claiming Dust2 and Ancient and ending the home side’s tournament run. The result reverses a meeting between the teams from the BLAST Bounty Round of 32 a month earlier.

On Dust2 Magic recovered after an early setback and seized control before the half. The team finished the first half 8-4 following a 7-0 run that flipped momentum. Svyatoslav “MaSvAl” Masko led the map with the highest impact, while Abdurakhim “mo0N” Issa and Nikita “tenzy” Kochenyuk made decisive plays after the side switch to close out the map.

Ancient was tighter in the first half, with 3DMAX answering most of Magic’s gun rounds. After changing sides, Magic built a sustained CT streak that put the map out of reach for the French squad. Vitaliy “sFade8” Marushka was part of the unit that produced the run on the CT side.

Individual statistics highlighted Magic’s control. Tenzy finished with 32 kills, a 1.39 rating and an average damage per round (ADR) of 98.5. MaSvAl posted 25 kills and a 1.38 rating, while mo0N added 31 kills with a 1.33 rating. Andrey “AW” Anisimov and sFade8 each recorded 30 kills and ratings above 1.20, contributing consistently across rounds.

For 3DMAX, Jeremy “Kursy” Gast led his team with 30 kills, a 1.01 rating and an ADR of 78.7. Team captain Lucas “Lucky” Chastang managed 23 kills with a 0.89 rating and 61.4 ADR. Filip “Graviti” Brankovic, Bryan “Maka” Canda and Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier posted lower ratings for the match.

After the loss, Lucas “Lucky” Chastang described the mood as “incredibly sad and frustrated,” saying the team had been confident and had a clear plan but “everything went pretty badly.” Magic will play another lower-bracket match in Group D while 3DMAX depart the tournament.
