m0NESY MVP as Falcons win IEM Cologne 2026

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, 21, was named Most Valuable Player of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 after Falcons defeated FURIA in the final at the LANXESS arena in Cologne, Germany. The AWPer led Falcons on the first two maps and finished the event with a tournament-high 1.25 overall rating and a 1.10 KPRW (kills per round weighted).

m0NESY reached his first Major final with Falcons and collected his first Major-winning MVP in nearly 18 months. He was the main scoring presence on maps one and two in the final, while a weaker performance on map three allowed teammates Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin to contend for the award. Across the tournament the three players each earned seven map awards; m0NESY’s edge in overall rating and KPRW decided the MVP.

Falcons’ run to the title included wins over teams ranked first, second, third and fifth in the world on the way to the final. The victory ended an eight-game losing streak for m0NESY in grand finals and capped the team’s week at the Cologne venue.

The MVP is the seventh career medal for m0NESY, all earned at Big Events. That total moves him ahead of Marcelo “coldzera” David on that list and level with Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski when lower-tier medals are included. The award is based on map awards and overall statistical impact across the Major.

Falcons lifted the IEM Cologne chalice in front of the local crowd, with m0NESY’s performances on the opening maps cited as a key factor in the final result. The IEM Cologne Major 2026 marked both Falcons’ tournament win and m0NESY’s first Major final converted into a championship and an MVP medal.
