m0NESY: karrigan’s rotations and chaos suit my playstyle

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov helped Falcons win the IEM Cologne Major and left the event as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. The title was his first with the Saudi-backed organisation after more than 15 months and eight grand final appearances.

m0NESY credited Finn “karrigan” Andersen’s rotations and the disorder they create on the server for matching his approach and for making him feel comfortable and energised during the final. He described karrigan as “amazing” and called him “the best captain I’ve ever played with, 100%.”

The player highlighted the arena atmosphere and his family in the crowd. He noted his brother and sister-in-law were in the front row and said their presence helped his energy on stage. “As soon as I walked out on the stage, I felt like everyone was very calm… I was very calm; I felt like I’m in Nirvana,” he said.

Falcons reached the trophy after beating several top teams, including Vitality, Spirit and FURIA. m0NESY called the run one of the toughest he has faced and pointed to the hours of practice and off-server work the team put in, saying they “kept working in the dark” until the Major.

karrigan had joined Falcons as captain 62 days before the final. In that period the team reached three grand finals and secured the title at Cologne. For m0NESY, the win ended a series of near-misses in finals while he continued to deliver strong individual performances.

After the final he thanked his family and close friends for their support and said the result made him proud. He described the moment as emotional and tiring and stressed the need for the team to stay grounded and keep preparing for upcoming events.
