Luminosity names Alexander ‘kakafu’ Szymanczyk head coach

Luminosity has appointed Alexander ‘kakafu’ Szymanczyk as the team’s head coach. The organization confirmed the signing after kakafu served as the team’s in-person coach and strategist at XSE Pro League Guangzhou and the Esports World Cup.

Kakafu joins a lineup made up of Aleks ‘Rainwaker’ Petrov, Aurélien ‘afro’ Drapier, Lucas ‘lux’ Meneghini and Oscar ‘AZUWU’ Bell. Aurimas ‘Bymas’ Pipiras remains on the roster but has been placed on the bench less than two months after signing with the former Monte core.

Kakafu previously played with the core of the current Luminosity squad while on the Monte roster that attended the IEM Cologne Major. He left Monte to join Luminosity without the squad’s in-game leader Jack ‘Gizmy’ von Spreckelsen, and he now reunites with several former teammates in a coaching capacity.

Luminosity has not released further details on the terms of the appointment or on any immediate roster or tactical changes.

The head coach role gives kakafu formal responsibility for match preparation, in-game adjustments and training oversight following his interim work with the squad at recent international events. Management lists him as head coach while Bymas remains benched pending further updates from the organization.
