Legacy ousts M80 in overtime at IEM Cologne Major
Legacy beat M80 3–1 in Stage 2 at the IEM Cologne Major, with Bruno “latto” Rebelatto ending the match on Inferno with a 1v2 overtime clutch.
Legacy defeated M80 3–1 in Stage 2 of the IEM Cologne Major in Cologne, eliminating the North American team after an overtime finish on Inferno. Bruno “latto” Rebelatto sealed the win with a 1v2 clutch in extra time. M80 finishes the event with a 1–3 record. Legacy moves to a deciding match and will face TYLOO for a spot in Stage 3.
On Dust2 Legacy opened on the T side and built a 10–2 lead while M80 struggled to respond. M80 mounted a partial comeback that included an ace from Mason “Lake” Sanderson, but Legacy converted map point in round 21 to take the first map. Key plays came from latto and Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer.
Inferno was tighter. The teams reached a 6–6 halftime score, and the second half featured frequent lead changes. M80 recovered from match point down to force overtime, but Legacy prevailed in the extra rounds when latto completed a 1v2 to end the match.
Individual statistics highlighted Legacy’s top performers. Bruno “latto” Rebelatto finished 34–22 with a 1.31 rating and 71.2 ADR. Guilherme “saadzin” Pacheco led the team with 37 kills and a 1.28 rating. Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer posted 33 kills, a 76.2 ADR and a 1.05 rating. Andrei “arT” Piovezan recorded 25–32 with a 0.84 rating. For M80, Josh “JBa” Barutt went 33–33 with a 1.08 rating, Lake was 30–35 with a 1.05 rating, and Fritz “slaxz-” Dietrich had 30–25 with a 1.00 rating. Elias “s1n” Steins and Michael “Swisher” Schmid finished with ratings below 0.80.
Legacy entered Stage 2 after winning the CS Asia Championships last month. The team lost best-of-one matches to MIBR and Monte earlier in Stage 2 and faced elimination against M80. Legacy previously beat TYLOO at the CS Asia Championships in two close maps and will meet them next in Cologne.
