Legacy eliminate Falcons, reach Esports World Cup semis

Legacy eliminated the karrigan-led Falcons 2-0 in the Esports World Cup quarter-finals in Paris, winning Mirage 13-7 before closing out Dust2 to reach the semi-finals. Legacy will face the winner of the Spirit versus Vitality quarter-final.

On Mirage, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov kept Falcons competitive early with a series of AWP multi-kill rounds, but Legacy won the T-side pistol and overturned a 5-7 deficit. Legacy then held a clean defensive half to finish the map 13-7.

Dust2 opened with Legacy taking an early CT-side edge. A successful pistol-round plant allowed Falcons to afford a second-round buy and they built a 3-1 lead. Falcons led 7-5 at halftime after a strong showing from Santino “try” Rigal on the AWP.

Legacy continued to win pistol rounds and the match remained tight. Falcons ran five rounds in a row to move ahead 10-9, but a double entry from Bruno “latto” Rebelatto forced a 10-10 tie. try then hit an AWP double in a late 2v2 to give Legacy map point, and Legacy closed the series one round later.

Individual numbers reflected the match flow. Santino “try” Rigal led Legacy with 39 kills and a 1.49 rating, while latto added 33 kills. Andrei “arT” Piovezan and Vinicius “n1ssim” Pereira provided support in key rounds. For Falcons, m0NESY finished with 37 kills and a 1.35 rating. Other Falcons players, including Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Finn “karrigan” Andersen, had lower ratings across the two maps.

Falcons were making their first LAN appearance since winning the Major. Their run in Paris ends at the quarter-final stage.
