KRIMZ signs with EYEBALLERS, reunites with JW

Freddy ‘KRIMZ’ Johansson has signed with Swedish team EYEBALLERS and will take the active roster spot left by Jonatan ‘bobeksde’ Persson, the organization announced.

The move follows KRIMZ’s benching at fnatic, which ended a ten-year tenure with the club. His departure closed the longest-running active stint by a player with a single organization as fnatic shifted toward a predominantly Ukrainian roster.

KRIMZ and Jesper ‘JW’ Wecksell played together from 2014 to 2021. The pair were teammates when fnatic won two Major tournaments in 2015, at ESL One Katowice and ESL One Cologne.

KRIMZ wrote in the team’s announcement: “It feels right to be here. EYEBALLERS is a Swedish project with people I know and trust, and lining up next to JW again after all these years is special. I’ve still got a lot to give, and I’m excited to do it at home, in front of Swedish fans.”

JW described the reunion as personal in the announcement: “I’ve shared a server with Freddy through some of the best moments of my career, so getting to do it again, this time at EYEBALLERS, means a lot to me personally.”

EYEBALLERS’ active roster now lists Jesper ‘JW’ Wecksell, Sebastian ‘dex’ Samuelsson, Kalle ‘Ro1f’ Johansson, Max ‘maxster’ Jansson and Freddy ‘KRIMZ’ Johansson, with Faruk ‘pita’ Pita serving as coach. Jonatan ‘bobeksde’ Persson’s departure created the vacancy KRIMZ fills.

EYEBALLERS described the signing as part of a Swedish project built around players and staff the organization knows. The club said KRIMZ’s experience will be used as it prepares for upcoming competitions and domestic events in Sweden.
