Knight cites versatility as BLG’s strength at Worlds 2026
BLG mid laner knight said his deep champion pool and balanced style give him few weaknesses compared with other mid laners at Worlds 2026.
Bilibili Gaming mid laner Zhuo “knight” Ding credited his broad champion pool and adaptable style after BLG defeated Team Liquid at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. The win followed BLG’s opening Swiss Stage loss to Movistar KOI.
“I think my strength is that I’m a well-rounded player,” knight said. “I have a deep champion pool and a balanced playstyle that allows me to adapt to different situations. Compared to other midlaners, I don’t think I have many obvious weaknesses, and I believe that versatility is one of my biggest strengths.”
Most of the crowd supported Team Liquid, but the home support gave knight extra motivation before the match.
“Being able to beat them on their home court makes me even happier and more excited,” he said. “Even before the match, I could already hear the crowd cheering for them, and that gave me an extra boost.”
BLG picked Camille in the top lane after Team Liquid selected K’Sante. The champion was available because BLG was on the right side of the draft. Camille could have been used as a flex pick by top laner Bin or jungler Xun, and Bin recommended the selection after seeing K’Sante.
Knight linked BLG’s slow starts at Worlds to the best-of-one format and the team’s high-risk, high-reward approach. BLG sometimes loses the opening game of a best-of-three series in the LPL for the same reason.
“If we don’t perform well, we can easily lose the game,” knight said. “I think that is the reason.”
He attributed the LPL teams’ difficult opening day at Worlds to their reading of the tournament meta. The teams need more time to adjust their champion priorities and strategies, he said. Travel, time-zone differences and the number of games affect every team at the event.
Western teams are difficult to play against because their lineups and strategies can be hard to predict, according to knight. He added that those teams often rely on coordinated play and quick rotations to support one another.
Knight named Zoe as a champion he would like to play at Worlds, although he does not expect many chances to select her in the current meta. He also described this international tournament as less stressful after winning an international title earlier in 2026.
“In the past few years, I would get quite stressed on stage, but this time, I just want to enjoy every moment, make the most of every game, and simply do my best in every match,” knight said.
He also discussed BLG top laner 369, who he believes performs better on stage than in ranked games. Knight referred to a League chat exchange in which 369 complained about losing to an Emerald-ranked Zed player.
“Since we’re very close friends, I know that his performance in ranked games isn’t always as good as it is on stage,” knight said. “He’s an incredible player in tournaments and he can deliver amazing performances on stage.”
