KHBP, Jordan esports federation agree to expand cooperation

King Hussein Business Park and the Jordan Esports Federation signed an MoU to host esports events and explore joint education, training and community programmes in Jordan.

King Hussein Business Park (KHBP) and the Jordan Esports Federation (JEF) have signed a memorandum of understanding to organise esports tournaments and events in Jordan and explore joint education, training and community programmes.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Prince Omar bin Faisal, president of the JEF. The federation is Jordan’s government-recognised regulatory body for esports and is based at KHBP, a business and technology hub in West Amman.

Under the agreement, KHBP and the JEF will host specialised tournaments at the park and receive international delegations and official guests attending the events. They will also cooperate on media and marketing and assess opportunities for joint programmes focused on education, training and community engagement.

The organisations will use KHBP’s facilities to expand esports activities, support young players and increase participation in the sector.

“This partnership builds on our ongoing efforts to create an enabling environment for institutions, initiatives and high-potential sectors and to establish KHBP as a hub for innovation and technology,” Ammar Ezzeddin, CEO of King Hussein Business Park, said. “We look forward to helping the sector thrive and to hosting more tournaments and events that put Jordanian talent in the spotlight and raise the Kingdom’s profile in this field.”

Hazem Bawab, vice president of the JEF, described the agreement as a significant step in developing Jordan’s esports industry and raising the standard of local, regional and international competitions. He added that the federation would use KHBP’s facilities to expand its work, develop young talent and launch joint programmes.

KHBP’s gaming and esports activities are centred at THE ARC, a gaming dome and esports arena on the park’s campus. The venue has hosted the fourth Arab Esports League, a regional tournament, and a Women’s Esports Championship attended by hundreds of female Jordanian gamers.

THE ARC also hosted Red Bull Login, a full-day event with PC, console, arcade, virtual reality and sim racing zones. The event included the national finals for DOTA 2 and Counter-Strike 2.

The venue operates as an incubation centre supported by Jordan’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the JEF. KHBP also runs training camps at the site for aspiring professional esports players.
