khaN: “I stopped caring so much about the pressure”

Nemiga reached the PGL Masters Bucharest semifinals after beating FUT and qualified for the PGL Singapore Major. Beksultan “khaN” Ospan credited a calmer approach.

Nemiga reached the PGL Masters Bucharest semifinals with a victory over FUT, securing qualification for the PGL Singapore Major. The result is the team’s best finish at a Big Event.

The victory did not surprise Beksultan “khaN” Ospan. Nemiga had regularly practiced against teams ranked in the top 10 and top 15 and felt it could win against opponents at that level.

“We weren’t nervous about the result,” khaN said. “We know that we are capable of winning such teams.”

Before the tournament, Nemiga had not reached the playoffs at a tier-one event. In previous tournaments, the team placed pressure on itself by expecting to make the playoffs and win, which contributed to nerves and stress.

“Recently I just started to not give a fuck,” khaN said. “I’m trying to just enjoy as much as I can playing on the stage. Everything feels good.”

He added that the team’s focus was to play good Counter-Strike rather than concentrate on the result.

KhaN credited Nemiga’s improved results to a more skilled lineup and better control of pressure. “We’re just making everything better than before and handling our nerves much better,” he said.

Nemiga will now prepare for the PGL Singapore Major. The team’s starting stage has not been determined. For khaN, reaching the playoffs is the first target at the event.

Nemiga still needs to improve its grenade usage and communication. KhaN believes the team can become a consistent top-10 side if it addresses those issues.

He also thanked the supporters who backed Nemiga during a difficult start to the season, when the team suffered several losses.
