IEM Cologne: Team rallies from 15-18 to force Stage 3 decider

Recovered from 15–18 to win a map at IEM Cologne Stage 2; the team now needs one best-of-three to reach Stage 3.

A team at IEM Cologne Stage 2 came back from a 15–18 deficit to win a map and remain in contention for Stage 3. The victory leaves the organization one best-of-three match away from qualifying for the next stage.

The turnaround occurred during Stage 2 of the Counter-Strike event in Cologne, when the squad trailed late in the map before winning the remaining rounds to close out the game.

A player on the roster acknowledged making mistakes that cost important rounds and later noted he recovered mentally as the team regrouped. “I still managed to come back mentally,” the player said, adding the squad showed strong nerves when the match mattered most.

Under the tournament format, winners from Stage 2 advance to a final qualifying series. The team will now play a single best-of-three; the winner of that series will progress to Stage 3.

The team will prepare for the deciding best-of-three with a Stage 3 berth on the line.
