IEM Atlanta runs single Fantasy game for groups and playoffs
Organizers will run one Fantasy contest covering both group stages and playoffs at IEM Atlanta, citing format, schedule, team list and a concurrent Astana event as reasons.
IEM Atlanta will use a single Fantasy game that covers both the group stages and the playoffs, organizers said, pointing to the tournament format, schedule, the event’s team list and a concurrent tier-one LAN in Astana as the factors behind the decision.
The event field is split into two eight-team double-elimination groups. Upper finalists and lower-final winners from those groups advance to a six-team single-elimination playoff. Upper-final winners enter the playoff at the semifinal stage. All matches are best-of-three except for the grand final, which is best-of-five. The single Fantasy game replaces previously separate group and playoff contests.
Organizers said the six-team playoff bracket, which includes only one full break day, complicates Fantasy scheduling. The Atlanta event also runs at the same time as a separate LAN in Astana that features a stronger attending team list and a format organizers described as more favorable for distinct group and playoff Fantasy contests.
Fantasy participants can create rosters on the event Fantasy page and will earn Season points in addition to a set of skin prizes sponsored by Hellcase. Top individual prizes for IEM Atlanta include Huntsman Knife | Bright Water (Minimal Wear), M4A1-S | Player Two (Minimal Wear), AK-47 | Searing Rage (Factory New) and AWP | Hyper Beast (Field-Tested). Lower prize places receive Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries (Factory New).
Organizers highlighted player pricing and pick trends in the consolidated game. Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev is the fifth-most-picked player in the Fantasy pool despite being listed on the lowest-ranked team; his Fantasy price is $186,000. The scoring system applies a penalty for eliminated players: every round a selected player misses because their team is eliminated deducts three points from a user’s Fantasy score.
The concurrently running Hero Esports Asian Champions League 2026 uses a different Fantasy setup. That event runs two full best-of-three, eight-team double-elimination brackets, with the group winners meeting in a best-of-five grand final. Hellcase is also sponsoring skins for that event’s Fantasy prizes, including AK-47 | Frontside Misty (Minimal Wear), M4A1-S | Solitude (Factory New), AWP | Corticera (Field-Tested) and USP-S | Sleeping Potion (Factory New) for some prize tiers.
Fans are directed to the IEM Atlanta Fantasy page to build rosters, review player prices and pick statistics, and to note the round-elimination penalty before submitting teams.
