HEROIC on brink after Lynn Vision’s EmiliaQAQ Dust2 win

HEROIC lost 16-11 on Dust2 to Lynn Vision in the second round of the 0-2 elimination bracket at Stage 1 of the IEM Cologne Major. The defeat drops HEROIC to 0-2 in the pool and moves them closer to an early exit from the tournament.

Junjie ‘EmiliaQAQ’ Tang recorded a three-kill sequence at 10-11 while alone on the B bombsite. Those kills swung the late rounds in Lynn Vision’s favor and helped the Chinese roster close out the map after a slow start on the Terrorist side.

Lynn Vision’s defence was led by Zhe ‘Westmelon’ Niu and EmiliaQAQ. Westmelon finished with 24 kills and a match-high rating of 1.65. EmiliaQAQ had 19 kills, an ADR of 89.9 and a rating of 1.45. Teammates Qihao ‘C4LLM3SU3’ Su and Sike ‘z4KR’ Zhang added 12 and 13 kills respectively.

For HEROIC, Yasin ‘xfl0ud’ Koç led the team with 17 kills and a 1.22 rating. Simon ‘yxngstxr’ Boije had 16 kills. Christoffer ‘Chr1zN’ Storgaard finished with eight kills and a 0.67 rating.

The loss extends HEROIC’s losing streak to seven consecutive matches dating back to PGL Astana in mid-May. HEROIC must now win three straight best-of-three matches in the elimination bracket to advance in Cologne.

Lynn Vision recovered from an early deficit on the T side and won rounds through timed retakes and defensive setups on B. The victory keeps Lynn Vision alive in the Major and moves them on to a later match in the elimination bracket.
