HEROIC eliminated Gaimin Gladiators 2-0 at the IEM Cologne Major in Cologne, Germany. The result ended Gaimin Gladiators’ tournament run and ended a seven-series losing streak for HEROIC.
Both maps were largely one-sided. HEROIC controlled play throughout the series while Gaimin Gladiators failed to build a consistent attack and finished the Major with 16 rounds across four maps. Gaimin’s CT halves featured several speculative plays and the team missed multiple man-advantage situations.
HEROIC’s top performers produced the bulk of the damage. Tim “susp” Ångström finished 32-21 with 92.3 average damage per round and a 1.69 Rating3.0. Linus “nilo” Bergman had 36 kills and a 1.55 Rating3.0. Simon “yxngstxr” Boije posted 34-18 and a 1.41 Rating3.0. Christoffer “Chr1zN” Storgaard and Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç contributed across rounds with lower individual ratings.
Key moments included two separate 1v3 clutches by susp, a four-kill flank on Inferno by susp, a four-kill conversion by yxngstxr from a 2v4 situation, and a Tec-9 double entry from xfl0ud that helped close out late rounds for HEROIC.
Gaimin Gladiators’ statistics were mixed. Henrique “HEN1” Teles went 26-24 with a 1.04 Rating3.0 and Luca “Luken” Nadotti finished 23-25 with a 1.04 Rating3.0. Jhonatan “JOTA” Willian was 22-31 with a 0.84 Rating3.0, Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato was 20-30 with a 0.80 Rating3.0, and Fernando “fer” Alvarenga ended 15-29 with a 0.63 Rating3.0.
João “felps” Vasconcellos was removed from Gaimin Gladiators’ roster before the event. The roster change occurred prior to the Major.
HEROIC’s victory moves the team further in the Major bracket.
