Gen.G, SOOP extend exclusive streaming deal through 2028
Gen.G and SOOP extended an exclusive streaming deal through 2028; personal streams from Gen.G players across LCK, VCT Pacific, PUBG, FC Online and Tekken will appear only on SOOP.
Gen.G, the South Korean esports organisation, announced on X that it has extended its exclusive streaming agreement with SOOP through 2028. SOOP was formerly known as AfreecaTV.
Under the agreement, personal streams from Gen.G players on domestic rosters will be hosted exclusively on SOOP. The deal covers League of Legends (LCK), VALORANT (VCT Pacific), PUBG, FC Online and Tekken.
SOOP plans a range of content tied to the partnership, including individual player streams, collaborative programming with other creators, live broadcasts and subscriber events. Gen.G talent will appear on SOOP shows such as Myeolmangjeon and SLL. The two organisations will work together on planning and producing Gen.G’s offline events.
The announcement follows other SOOP activity in esports. The platform released an exclusive lineup of pro player broadcasts for June 2026 to fill an LCK break and last month extended an exclusive streaming deal with BNK FEARX covering its League of Legends and FC Online players.
The extension runs through 2028 as the esports calendar prepares for Global Esports Industry Week, scheduled 18–21 June 2026 in Cologne, Germany, alongside IEM Cologne.
In a statement, SOOP wrote, “Through this expanded partnership, we’ll create more ways for fans to connect with the team, from players’ personal streams and collaborative content to offline events. The primary goal is to give players and fans more opportunities to interact directly beyond just match days.”
Gen.G and SOOP have a history of cooperation. Many Korean esports professionals previously streamed on AfreecaTV, and the new agreement centralises those broadcasts on SOOP while extending the range of content and live experiences tied to Gen.G’s teams.
