GameSquare Renews, Expands Data Partnership with Riot Games
GameSquare renewed and broadened its annual partnership with Riot Games; Stream Hatchet and Sideqik will continue to provide livestream viewership metrics, esports analytics and influencer tools.
GameSquare has renewed and expanded its annual partnership with Riot Games. The company’s subsidiaries Stream Hatchet and Sideqik will continue to provide livestream viewership metrics, esports analytics and influencer campaign tools to support Riot’s global esports operations.
The renewal continues a relationship that began in 2019. Stream Hatchet, rebranded from Click Management, and Sideqik will deliver real-time data on livestream viewership, audience trends and creator performance. The platforms will support league reporting, event scheduling, creator discovery, campaign tracking and consulting services.
Riot applies the tools across more than 70 esports leagues and over 130 live esports events each year, including the League of Legends Esports circuit and the VALORANT Champions Tour. GameSquare says the data informs tournament scheduling, decisions about event formats and efforts to grow fan engagement, and it factors into creator marketing strategies aimed at expanding Riot’s esports audience.
The agreement is renewed on an annual basis. Neither GameSquare nor Riot disclosed a fixed contract length, deal value, revenue-sharing terms or other commercial commitments.
In a statement, Eduard Montserrat, chief executive of Stream Hatchet, wrote: “Our relationship with Riot Games is a powerful example of how GameSquare’s platform can grow with leading publishers as their needs evolve across esports, creator marketing and influencer strategy. What began as a longstanding esports reporting partnership through Stream Hatchet has expanded into a broader relationship that supports Riot’s influencer teams with the full suite of Stream Hatchet and Sideqik tools.”
The renewal follows other recent moves by GameSquare, including a partnership with the U.S. Army Installation Management Command to produce Soldier Showdown 8 and a repurchase of nearly $1 million of its own shares.
