G2 extends HeavyGod contract after BLAST London MVP
G2 signed 23-year-old Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko to a multi-year extension Wednesday. He joined in January 2025, holds a 1.15 rating over 280 maps and was BLAST Open London 2025 MVP.
G2 announced Wednesday that it has signed 23-year-old Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko to a multi-year contract extension. The German organization said the deal keeps the player with the team after he joined in January 2025.
Martynenko arrived following Nikola “NiKo” Kovač’s transfer to Falcons. Since joining G2 he has primarily played as the team’s anchor and has averaged a 1.15 rating across 280 maps, a statistic the club cited to describe his on-map consistency.
G2 reached playoff stages at several major events after his arrival, often advancing from group play or narrowly missing the final rounds. The team won BLAST Open London 2025, defeating Dan “apEX” Madesclaire’s team 3-2 in the grand final; HeavyGod was named tournament MVP. The roster later lifted the Stake Ranked Episode 1 trophy following the addition of Guy “NertZ” Iluz.
The organization did not disclose financial details of the extension. The contract maintains G2’s current core while the team prepares for upcoming international events.
