G2 Esports to launch Red Aura webcomic on WEBTOON

G2 Esports will release the English-language webcomic Red Aura on WEBTOON Originals worldwide on June 6, 2026. The publisher will drop 20 episodes at launch — 15 free chapters and five premium Fast Pass chapters — as the first instalment of a planned 42-episode first season and will move to a weekly release schedule after the initial batch.

The series was created for vertical-scroll reading and produced in collaboration with KISAI Entertainment and Japanese art director Runbel. Red Aura originally premiered in Japan on LINE MANGA in October 2025 and reached number nine in the platform’s New Series category during its opening weekend.

G2 describes the comic as part of a push to expand the organisation’s digital-first entertainment and develop original intellectual property beyond competitive gaming. Sabrina Ratih, G2 chief operating officer, described the project as “Expanding into original entertainment has been a major focus for G2, and Red Aura is only the beginning of what we want to build.”

Runbel, who served as art director, noted the creative team designed panels specifically for the vertical format and used particular camera layouts to heighten action, saying the process aimed “to create cool action panels that have never been seen before.” KISAI Entertainment handled production alongside G2; the art and pacing follow a shonen-influenced style optimized for mobile reading.

Fast Pass chapters will require payment for early access while the majority of the initial 20 chapters will be free to readers. After the launch, WEBTOON will publish further episodes on a weekly schedule.

The release aligns with a trend of Western esports organisations investing in multimedia content and expanding activity in East Asian markets. G2 has previously worked on anime projects including Solo Leveling, and other European teams have increased operations in the region by launching local-language channels and signing regional competitors.

Red Aura will be available on WEBTOON Originals globally on June 6, 2026, with the first 20 episodes released immediately and subsequent chapters published weekly.
