G2 into BLAST Rivals upper bracket with 2-0 over Astralis

G2 defeated Astralis 2-0 at BLAST Rivals Season 1 on April 30, 2026, winning Dust2 13-5 and Overpass 13-9. The Paris-based roster advances to the upper bracket and will meet Vitality later that day; the winner of that match will earn a semi-final spot. Astralis moves to the lower bracket and will face FUT; the loser of Astralis vs FUT will be eliminated from the event.

On Dust2 G2 built an early lead on the Terrorist side and closed the map 13-5 after securing a second-round force-buy on the CT side. On Overpass G2 established a large halftime advantage on CT and pushed the score to 12 once they had rifles on the offense. Astralis produced a late response on Overpass but could not recover the deficit.

Individual statistics favored G2 across both maps. Nikita Martynenko (HeavyGod) finished 32-22 with a 1.52 rating and 87.9 average damage per round (ADR). Álvaro García (SunPayus) posted 33-17, a 1.35 rating and 81.8 ADR. Nemanja Kovač (huNter-) went 28-23 with a 1.17 rating and 79.6 ADR; he delivered a four-kill spray transfer that decided a key round. Guy Iluz (NertZ) had 32-24, 1.16 rating and 84.9 ADR, while Matúš Šimko (MATYS) recorded 23-24, a 1.03 rating and 66.6 ADR.

Astralis’ top numbers came from Victor Staehr, who finished 31-29 with a 1.18 rating and 85.9 ADR. Rasmus Nielsen (HooXi) was 26-27 with a 0.99 rating and 64.8 ADR. Jakob Nygaard (jabbi) went 24-33, 0.84 rating and 68.0 ADR; Love Smidebrant (phzy) was 24-28, 0.83 rating and 64.4 ADR. Gytis Glušauskas (ryu) ended 5-31 with a 0.43 rating and 31.3 ADR.
