G2 win back-to-back LEC Spring titles with Nasus jungle

G2 Esports defeated Karmine Corp 3-2 to claim the LEC Spring 2026 championship. The best-of-five final went the full distance and marks consecutive spring titles for G2.

The series repeated an earlier meeting between the two teams this season, which also ended 3-2 in G2’s favor. Game 5 was played under the Fearless Draft format, which led both sides to use unconventional champion selections.

Jungler Skewmond selected Nasus for Game 5, the first recorded appearance of jungle Nasus at top-level professional play in nine years. Skewmond reached a 12-0 score by the 20-minute mark, finished the game without dying and was named Finals MVP.

Skewmond had a notable performance in Game 4 on Pantheon before the Nasus pick decided the series. Coaches and analysts noted the timing of the pick came with the series tied 2-2 and within the Fearless Draft restrictions.

Solo-queue data shows jungle Nasus holding a 52.3% win rate at Emerald rank and above, a metric often used to reflect performance among more experienced players. The pick’s appearance on stage may affect future draft decisions.

With the title, G2 advance directly to the Bracket Stage of MSI 2026. Karmine Corp will enter the Play-In stage and face representatives from the LCS, LCP and LCK for a remaining qualification slot. MSI runs June 28 to July 12 at Daejeon Convention Center II in Daejeon, South Korea.

The result continues a season-long rivalry between G2 and Karmine Corp, which has produced multiple five-game series this year.
