FUT sweep Liquid to reach PGL Bucharest 2-0 pool

FUT took Liquid’s map pick, Cache, after Liquid won both pistol rounds. FUT responded to the first pistol loss with six consecutive rounds and led 9-3 at halftime. Liquid won the first two rounds after the side switch, but FUT closed the map with four straight rounds.

Dmytro “dem0n” Myroshnychenko led Cache with 20 kills, six deaths and a 2.15 rating. FUT also had a 14-4 advantage in opening kills.

FUT opened Dust2 with a 6-0 lead. Liquid reduced the deficit to 10-8 after winning four consecutive rounds. Georgi “Jorko” Mitev added a 1v3 clutch during the comeback attempt, but FUT won the final two rounds after Liquid made it 11-9.

Dem0n finished the series with 43 kills, 19 deaths, 110.8 average damage per round and a 1.98 rating. Álvaro “SunPayus” García had a 1.28 rating. The win was FUT’s second consecutive 2-0 result since SunPayus joined the active lineup and won his debut against TYLOO.

FUT are now in the 2-0 pool, where they have three opportunities to record the win required for a playoff place. Liquid dropped to 1-1 after opening the tournament with a win over MOUZ. Both teams are awaiting their third-round opponents.

FUT must play five matches with SunPayus before the Nov. 2 VRS roster cutoff for him to replace Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov on the team’s Major invitation roster. Cmtry is now with Astralis. If FUT do not complete the required matches, he will remain listed on both teams’ invitation rosters, although only one team can accept the invitation.
