FUT deny MOUZ comeback to clinch EWC playoff spot

FUT defeated MOUZ 2-1 in the Group C upper-bracket match at the Esports World Cup to earn a place in the tournament playoffs. MOUZ moved to the lower bracket and will play the winner of 100 Thieves vs. PARIVISION in an elimination match.

FUT opened the series on Nuke, selecting the map and winning the attacking pistol round. They built a strong T-side and closed out the first map 13-6. Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás produced notable rounds for MOUZ but could not shift the momentum.

The second map featured several standout plays and swung between the teams. Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç produced an early 1v2 clutch that helped FUT to a 6-1 lead, then Džiugas “dziugss” Steponavičius delivered a four-kill with the Desert Eagle as MOUZ fought back. xfl0ud later landed a Desert Eagle ace. Dorian “xertioN” Berman completed a late retake to tie the score and force overtime. MOUZ controlled the extra rounds and took the map 16-12 to even the series.

Mirage served as the decider. FUT dominated Middle early, won the pistol and converted rounds to reach an 11-4 lead. MOUZ mounted a recovery through coordinated mid-round plays and levelled the match, but FUT converted the closing rounds to secure the 2-1 series win and the playoff berth.

Individual performance figures from the match included Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç with 59 kills, a 96.2 ADR and a 1.50 rating, and Džiugas “dziugss” Steponavičius with 50 kills and a 1.23 rating. For MOUZ, Dorian “xertioN” Berman finished with 52 kills and a 1.13 rating, Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás had 51 kills and a 1.03 rating, and new signing Oldřich “PR” Nový recorded 51 kills with a 1.00 rating.

FUT will move on to the EWC knockout rounds and await their next opponent. MOUZ will face the winner of 100 Thieves vs. PARIVISION in a lower-bracket elimination match.
