FURIA’s Sidde: Team Cannot Choose Events for Convenience

FURIA co-leader Sidde addressed the team’s decision to attend FISSURE Playground 3 in China, saying the roster cannot select events only for convenience. The team entered the event as defending champions and tournament favorites. The squad is competing while Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo prepares for retirement and Danil “molodoy” Golubenko manages eye problems.

Sidde described the travel schedule: the team left Portugal at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, arrived in China about 17 hours later at 7:00 a.m. the following morning, and reached the hotel around noon. Players completed media obligations in the afternoon and focused on rest before their match, which was the last of the day.

On the server, FURIA beat GamerLegion 2–1 after a slow start on Mirage and Cache. Early losses on anti-eco rounds shifted the economy and made the T half more difficult, forcing a comeback on the CT side. Sidde noted the seven-hour time difference and limited adaptation time contributed to a sleepy opening, and warming up improved the team’s performance.

Sidde said the decision to attend was not his alone and reflected organizational priorities; he declined to detail the reasons. He dismissed the idea that the trip was primarily to add trophies for FalleN, while saying the team values returning to events it has won before.

FURIA will face PARIVISION for a playoff spot. Sidde expects a tougher match, noting PARIVISION had time to rest and prepared with the addition of FL1T alongside Jame and dastan. The China event is FURIA’s third of four consecutive tournaments, with StarSeries Fall next. The stretch began at the Esports World Cup in mid-August and runs through September 21.

“We left Portugal on Sunday, very early in the morning, 6:00 AM. We got here the next day at 7:00 AM. We traveled for 17 hours or something like that,” Sidde recalled, describing the travel and recovery timeline.
