FURIA rallies past Aurora to reach EWC quarterfinals

FURIA rallied from behind to defeat Aurora and secure a spot in the EWC quarterfinals during the tournament’s knockout phase this week. The victory eliminated Aurora from title contention and moved FURIA into the last eight.

The teams met in a best-of series. Aurora won the opening portion of the match and forced FURIA into timeouts early. FURIA tightened its defense in the middle rounds, won several key rounds and carried momentum through the remainder of the contest to close out the win.

FURIA’s adjustments included changes to defensive positioning and coordinated executes that swung several mid- and late-series rounds in their favor. Aurora’s early aggression and map control created an initial advantage but produced fewer scoring opportunities as the match progressed.
