FURIA beat BETBOOM to reach PGL Bucharest semifinals

FURIA reached the PGL Masters Bucharest semifinals with a 2-0 win over BETBOOM. The Brazilian-majority roster will face MOUZ on Oct. 30 at 15:00 local time.

FURIA took an 11-2 lead on Dust2, with Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis and Yuri “yuurih” Santos creating openings with flanking plays. BETBOOM reduced the deficit after winning a force-buy round and receiving two rounds from Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko, sending the map to overtime.

FURIA won every overtime round to take the opening map. YEKINDAR secured a clutch during the extra rounds.

BETBOOM led early on Cache after several FURIA attacks toward the A site failed. FURIA recovered after the side change, winning the second-half pistol round through a one-versus-two clutch from Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato. YEKINDAR later recorded four kills from the Boost position as FURIA closed out the map and series.

YEKINDAR led the match with a 1.41 rating and 39 kills. KSCERATO posted a 1.37 rating and 38 kills, while Danil “molodoy” Golubenko finished with a 1.22 rating.

The semifinal will be FURIA’s fourth meeting with MOUZ in just over a month. FURIA won the first match at StarSeries Fall, while MOUZ won the next two encounters 2-0 at ESL Pro League Season 24.

The teams last met in the Thunderpick World Championship grand final, where FURIA won 3-2 in a best-of-five series.
