FURIA beat 9z to reach ESL Pro League playoffs

FURIA defeated 9z on the final day of the ESL Pro League Season 24 Swiss stage, winning Nuke 13-7 and Inferno 13-3. The result secured one of the final three playoff spots and completed the eight-team bracket.

The series began on 9z’s Nuke. Maximiliano “max” Gonzalez’s team opened with a 4-1 lead, but added only one more attacking round before halftime. FURIA won the second-half pistol and controlled the rest of the map, conceding two rounds before closing out the 13-7 win.

9z again won the opening pistol on Inferno after Ignacio “meyern” Meyer secured a 1v2 clutch. FURIA responded by winning the following force-buy round with money from its earlier bomb plant and then put together a six-round run. FURIA led 9-3 at halftime and finished the map 13-3.

Danil “molodoy” Golubenko led FURIA with 36 kills and a 1.94 rating across the two maps. FalleN had 27 kills, including a three-kill USP round on Inferno, while Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis finished with 24 kills.

The result gives FalleN another appearance at Spodek Arena in Katowice. In 2016, he produced a 1v4 clutch ace for Luminosity Gaming at the venue. Luminosity reached the final but lost the title match to fnatic.
