Fortnite 40.30 Live With Star Wars Skins, New Weapons, Map Change
Update 40.30 launched April 30, 2026 after about three hours of maintenance, adding Star Wars Clone Wars skins, Cube Splitter SMG, Reforged Infinity Blade and a new Elite Landmark.
Epic Games took Fortnite servers offline at 4 a.m. ET on April 30, 2026 for about three hours to deploy update 40.30. The patch became available immediately after maintenance and players can download the updated client to join matches.
The release adds Star Wars Clone Wars-themed cosmetics to the locker and item shop rotation. Two weapons joined the in-match loot pool: the rapid-fire Cube Splitter SMG and the melee-focused Reforged Infinity Blade. A new Elite Landmark was added to the island; Epic Games’ patch notes describe it as a prominent point of interest that will change player movement and engagement patterns on the map.
Oathbound items were reintroduced to Fortnite Blitz, the game’s limited-time fast mode. Private-match hosts received additional custom-match options to adjust game settings for tournaments and community events. The update also added a new set of weekly quests for Battle Pass progression.
Files for an Animated Wives Bundle were added to game content and include a Lois Griffin skin and a Linda Belcher skin. Patch notes do not specify when those files will appear for purchase or rotation in the in-game store.
Epic Games typically publishes full patch notes and developer commentary on its official channels with exact details on balance changes, bug fixes and cosmetic drop timings. Those posts contain the complete list of changes and any subsequent hotfixes.
