Fnatic defeats Shifters 2-0, stays alive in LEC race

Fnatic beat Shifters 2-0 in Week 5 of LEC Spring 2026, moving to 2-3 and keeping a chance at a top-six playoff spot; Shifters fell to 0-5.
Fnatic defeated Shifters 2-0 in Week 5 of LEC Spring 2026, moving to 2-3 in the nine-match single round-robin regular season. Shifters dropped to 0-5. Only the top six teams from the regular season advance to the playoffs.
In Game 1 Shifters built an early lead of about 3,000 gold through aggressive plays and early skirmishes. Fnatic regained control through map management and by exploiting repeated positioning errors from Shifters to reverse the deficit. Game 2 was largely under Fnatic’s control and ended without the mid-game swings seen in the opener.
Fnatic fielded Óscar “Empyros” Muñoz Jiménez, Iván “Razork” Martín Díaz, Marek “Vladi” Prónai, Elias “Upset” Lipp and Lee “Lospa” Jung-hoon in the series.
At 2-3, Fnatic can still reach a top-six finish if they win enough of their remaining four series. At 0-5, Shifters would need four straight series wins to create a path to the playoffs.
The LEC regular season comprises nine best-of-three matches per team, a format that reduces margin for error and leaves little time to recover from early losses. Each remaining match affects seeding and qualification for the top-six playoff bracket.
