FISSURE Has Repaid Half of Its CS2 Debt, CEO Says

FISSURE has repaid roughly half of its outstanding CS2 debt, CEO Nikolay Vesnin wrote in an open letter. The organizer plans its next major repayment phase in the first quarter of 2027.

FISSURE has repaid roughly half of its outstanding Counter-Strike 2 debt, according to an open letter from CEO Nikolay Vesnin. Payments have been underway since the summer, and the company plans its next major repayment phase for the first quarter of 2027.

FISSURE is in contact with the clubs it owes money to and plans to agree on an individual repayment schedule with each club. The company did not disclose the total amount of its outstanding debt.

FISSURE plans to publish a report in the first quarter of 2027 detailing its repayment progress and efforts to reduce the debt.

The financial difficulties forced FISSURE to cancel three events scheduled for 2026 and 2027. The tournament organizer is also changing the financial structure of its competitions, according to the letter.

Prize pools for new tournaments are now secured before events begin and do not depend on FISSURE’s current finances, the letter said.

FISSURE plans to continue organizing tournaments while repaying its debt. “We are not going to throw away thirteen years of work because of the mistakes we have made,” Vesnin wrote. “We are correcting them, learning the right lessons and moving forward.”

The company also plans to continue organizing tournaments for its teams, players and viewers.
