FaZe reach BLAST Bounty S2 semifinals after 2-1 win

FaZe beat The MongolZ 2-1 at BLAST Bounty Season 2, taking Nuke 16-12 (OT) and Ancient 13-8 while dropping Mirage 7-13 to reach the semi-finals.

FaZe advanced to the BLAST Bounty Season 2 semi-finals after a 2-1 win over The MongolZ, prevailing 16-12 on Nuke (after overtime) and 13-8 on Ancient and losing Mirage 7-13.

On Nuke The MongolZ opened a 12-3 lead built on strong early CT rounds from Zolbayar “tikuak” Chimedtseren, Dugarsuren “DarkMeister” Ireedui and Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch. FaZe then won 13 consecutive rounds to force overtime. FaZe started overtime on the CT side and posted a 3-0 scoreline; Ryan “Neityu” Aubry secured a late clutch to complete the 16-12 comeback.

The MongolZ regained control on Mirage. Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren and tikuak led an aggressive T-side that produced a 9-3 lead for The MongolZ at the break. FaZe reduced the deficit in the second half but could not overtake The MongolZ, who closed the map 13-7. bLitz recorded an ace on a low-buy round that helped maintain his team’s lead.

On Ancient FaZe built a 9-3 halftime advantage. Jason “JBOEN” Boe Nielsen produced multiple multi-kill rounds in man-down situations that swung rounds to FaZe’s offense. The MongolZ opened the second half with a successful force-buy, but FaZe recovered and finished the map 13-8 to clinch the series.

Individual series stats show JBOEN led FaZe with a 56-41 kill-death line, about 79.8 average damage per round (ADR) and a 1.16 rating. Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch led The MongolZ in ADR at about 82.7 with a 52-45 mark and a 1.20 rating. Other contributors for FaZe included Jakub “jcobbb” Pietruszewski (48-46, 73.3 ADR, 1.11 rating), David “frozen” Čerňanský (41-47, 74.2 ADR, 1.07) and Neityu (44-48, 68.2 ADR, 1.05). The MongolZ figures included tikuak (45-44, 67.6 ADR, 1.01) and DarkMeister (49-42, 71.6 ADR, 0.99).

Notable moments across the series included a Zeus pistol kill that opened the match for The MongolZ, Neityu’s overtime clutch on Nuke, a last-second 1v1 defuse by jcobbb, a denied knife attempt on DarkMeister by frozen, and Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken registering a triple entry through mid on one round. JBOEN’s three-kill hold on Ancient stopped a late A rush and put FaZe on series point.

FaZe will play in the BLAST Bounty Season 2 semi-finals following the win. The MongolZ lost Nuke after leading 12-3 and finished the series with a 1-2 result.
