FalleN vs karrigan: Oldest Major champion on the line

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and Finn “karrigan” Andersen face each other in the IEM Cologne Major final today in Cologne, Germany. The match will decide the tournament champion and, separately, which player becomes the oldest Major winner in Counter-Strike history.

If karrigan wins, he would set the record at 36 years and 68 days. A FalleN victory would set the mark at 35 years and 22 days. Both players are older than the current record holder, so the title for oldest Major champion will change hands.

The current record holder is Dan “apEX” Madesclaire, who became the oldest Major winner at BLAST.tv Austin at 32 years and 121 days and then extended that mark at StarLadder Budapest to 32 years and 293 days.

Finn “karrigan” Andersen previously held the oldest-winner record when he won PGL Antwerp at 32 years and 38 days. Before that, Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko set the benchmark by winning PGL Major Kraków 2017 at 29 years and 289 days.

The final will alter the list of oldest Major winners and add a new entry to the tournament’s record books.
