Falcons reach 2-1 pool at PGL Astana
Falcons advanced to the 2-1 pool at PGL Astana with a 2-0 win over Monte, taking Dust2 and Ancient 13-11 as Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Nikola “NiKo” Kovač led the team.
Falcons advanced to the 2-1 pool at PGL Astana after a 2-0 victory over Monte, winning Dust2 and Ancient by identical 13-11 scores. The match took place on the PGL Astana stage as part of the event’s group play.
Falcons built early leads on both maps, taking comfortable opening halves before Monte reduced the gaps after side switches. On Dust2, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin and Nikola “NiKo” Kovač produced the strongest rounds in the first half. Monte mounted a comeback when they moved to the offensive side, with Oscar “AZUWU” Bell contributing key rounds after a scoreless first half.

On Ancient, Falcons opened with a commanding T-side performance and NiKo posted the highest impact for his team in the early rounds. Monte recovered some ground after halftime, and m0NESY secured an AWP retake late in the map that closed the series.
Individual statistics reflected Falcons’ advantage. NiKo finished with 40 kills and 27 deaths, 95.2 average damage per round and a 1.57 rating. m0NESY ended 43-21 with an 89.4 ADR and a 1.57 rating. kyousuke recorded 37 kills and 26 deaths with a 75.4 ADR. René “TeSeS” Madsen had 25-28 and Finn “karrigan” Andersen 22-32, with lower ADRs and ratings.
For Monte, Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras led the lineup with 35 kills and 32 deaths, a 73.3 ADR and a 0.96 rating. Jack “Gizmy” von Spreckelsen finished 24-34 with a 60.9 ADR and a 0.92 rating. Aurélien “afro” Drapier was 28-32 (61.1 ADR, 0.91 rating) and Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov 23-33 (62.1 ADR, 0.81 rating). AZUWU posted 23-36 with a 57.5 ADR and a 0.73 rating; he had a 0-12 first half on Dust2 before contributing in the second half of each map.
The win advances Falcons into the 2-1 pool at PGL Astana. Monte will return to the event schedule after the two close losses.
