Falcons beat Legacy 2-1 to clinch BLAST Open Porto spot

Falcons defeated Legacy 2-1 on Aug. 30, 2026, to secure a place in the BLAST Open Porto playoffs, guaranteeing at least a top-six finish at the event. The match was part of the BLAST Open pathway to the Porto playoffs.

The series spanned three maps and featured two 13-6 finishes. Dust2 proved the decider when Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov won a 1v3 duel that ended Legacy’s comeback attempt and sealed the match for Falcons.

Falcons received contributions across their lineup. m0NESY posted the highest overall impact with a 1.56 rating. Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin recovered after a difficult second map to record a 2.03 rating on the third map. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač produced several multi-kill rounds that helped Falcons extend leads late in maps. Coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen used a timeout while the team trailed 4-1 and instructed the players to reset; the team steadied after that break.

Legacy produced notable plays during the match, including late-round clutches from Vinicius “n1ssim” Pereira and multi-kill moments from Bruno “latto” Rebelatto. AWPer Santino “try” Rigal had a quiet series by his recent standards, which limited some of Legacy’s options in key rounds.

Falcons had lost to Legacy twice in recent meetings, in the CAC grand final and at the Esports World Cup, making this win a reversal of those results. With this victory Falcons became the fourth team to lock a ticket to the BLAST Open Porto playoffs. Legacy moves into the lower bracket and will face another opponent to try to remain in the event.

After the match, m0NESY told Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg he had taken an aggressive approach in the decisive duel: “I just took an aggressive duel against him. I didn’t want to respect.”
