EWC 2026 Warzone Peak Viewers Drop 24% to 268,450

Peak concurrent viewership for Warzone at the Esports World Cup 2026 fell 24%, reaching 268,450 viewers in Round 11 of the finals. The 2025 peak was 333,093. Average viewership for the event remained roughly the same year-on-year.

The Warzone competition at EWC 2026 doubled as the Warzone Resurgence Series 2026 Championship, the season finale for the inaugural Resurgence series. The event featured top trios and several Club Championship contenders. G2 Esports won the grand final after 11 rounds in which five teams reached match point. T1 finished second and JD Gaming third; the top three earned $250,000, $150,000 and $100,000 respectively. The total prize pool was $1 million, matching the largest prize pool on record for Warzone competition.

Organizers and viewership analysts cited several factors that coincided with the lower peak. Several high-profile teams delivered weaker performances in the finals than they had the previous year, reducing opportunities for large viewership spikes. A prominent regional favorite finished at the bottom of the finals standings, which corresponded with lower engagement in its key market. A previously used short-form video platform was not used for live streaming, and community streaming on a secondary platform declined sharply compared with 2025. Broadcasters have not released a detailed platform-specific breakdown.

The event peak occurred in Round 11, the decisive stage of the final, indicating the largest audience concentrated on the tournament climax even though the single-session peak was lower than in 2025.

On Club Championship points, Team Falcons retained the lead with 2,400 points despite finishing last in the finals. G2 Esports added 1,000 points but must secure another top-eight finish in either Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 or Counter-Strike 2 to become eligible for the Club Championship title.
