ESL FACEIT Group appointed Georg Brandes as vice president of media rights and distribution on Nov. 1. He will oversee the esports company’s media rights, content distribution and match data operations.
Brandes previously served as EFG’s senior director of media rights and distribution, a role he held from May 2025. His responsibilities include negotiating agreements for broadcasters and streaming platforms to show EFG events, delivering event broadcasts to regional partners and managing live match data, including scores and statistics.
EFG’s partners include KICK, TikTok and Twitch, as well as local media rights companies that broadcast its events in different languages.
Brandes joined ESL Gaming, now part of EFG, in October 2017 as partner manager for media rights. He became team lead for account management in October 2020, working on post-sales processes and workflows linking EFG’s production operations with local broadcasts. He was promoted to director of partner management for media rights in February 2022.
The appointment follows several other additions to EFG’s leadership and partnerships teams. In October 2026, the company appointed Tiago Paixão as creative director for the Esports World Cup and Esports Nations Cup. EFG also appointed Lauren Baines and Youssef Hassan as senior directors of global brand partnerships.
