CS2 May 19 patch penalizes stacked boosts, updates Cache - news.white.market

The May 19 CS2 update applies ladder-style inaccuracy to boosted players at a new limit, adjusts Cache window and vent collisions, and adds map scripting and player/money APIs.

Valve released a CS2 update on May 19 that changes boost stacking accuracy, adjusts collisions on Cache, and adds scripting and player/money APIs for map authors and server operators.

The patch introduces a setting named weapon_accuracy_stack_boost_limit with a default value of ‘2’. The setting applies ladder-style inaccuracy to players boosted by a stack of that size or larger. With the default, a player standing or crouching on two or more teammates will inherit the reduced accuracy normally applied when on ladders. Larger stacks remain possible, but accuracy from stacked positions will be affected when the configured limit is met.

Gameplay adjustments improve the consistency of grenade jump throws and the accuracy of the jump throw preview camera. The update modifies the transition from AWP draw to idle animation. Spectator mode fixes address a post-processing glitch when switching targets on maps with different post-processing volumes, stuck x-ray silhouettes when changing spectator targets, and the spectator damage overlay effect.

Map-specific changes concentrate on Cache. The model for Cache’s window covers now shows collision and bullet decals when shot. The update refines player and grenade clipping around windows, window covers, and the vent entrance to reduce cases where grenades or players became trapped or behaved unpredictably near those features.

The update expands map scripting and server APIs. New Instance methods include RegisterCheatCommand, GetAllPlayerControllers, OnBeginRoundRestart, and SetRoundRemainingTime. New player and economy functions include CSPlayerController.AddMoneySpendableNow, GetMoneySpendableNow, AddMoneyEarnedForNextRound, and GetMoneyEarnedForNextRound. New pawn and weapon queries include CSPlayerPawn.HasHelmet, SetHasHelmet, IsScoped, and CSWeaponBase.IsSilencerOn. The activator and caller behavior for OnPlayerUse was changed so the interacting player and the used entity are reported correctly. The update also fixed the value of CSInputs.LOOK_AT_WEAPON and resolved a potential crash in exception handling.

The patch notes do not include changes to the Armory. Players who plan to buy retiring skin or sticker collections retain the current window to purchase them.

The full patch notes list additional minor fixes and adjustments.
