cmtry at risk of missing Singapore Major with Astralis
Astralis rifler Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov is unlikely to play at the Singapore Major after FUT’s quarterfinal loss in Bucharest left him on its VRS roster.
Astralis rifler Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov is unlikely to play at the Singapore Major after FUT were eliminated by Nemiga in the quarterfinals of PGL Masters Bucharest. FUT lost the match 2-0 and have no scheduled matches before the November 2 invite cut-off.
The result left Álvaro “SunPayus” García one official match short of joining FUT’s VRS roster. He has played four official matches for FUT since joining from G2 at the start of October.
SunPayus can still represent FUT as a substitute at the Major, but he would not qualify for an event sticker. Cmtry remains listed on FUT’s VRS roster and cannot be registered by another team while that status remains unchanged.
Astralis’ remaining option depends on FUT entering an open LAN before November 2. An event such as EPIC 49 in Kettering could give SunPayus the chance to play his fifth match and join FUT’s VRS roster, which would release cmtry. FUT has not indicated that it plans to enter such an event.
Cmtry also cannot complete a fifth match for Astralis before the cut-off. Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard returned to the team on Tuesday for the rest of Stake Ranked Episode 5, taking the available roster spot.
VRS rules state that when a player is listed on two rosters, only the higher-ranked team can receive a Major invitation. FUT are currently three places above Astralis in the European VRS rankings, so FUT would receive the invitation if cmtry remains linked to both teams.
