BrokenBlade Weighs G2 Exit After Talks With Four Teams

G2 Esports top laner BrokenBlade has discussed a possible 2027 move with Movistar KOI, NAVI, Fnatic and LYON. His contract runs through Nov. 16, 2026.

G2 Esports top laner Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik is considering leaving the team after discussing a possible move for the 2027 League of Legends season with Movistar KOI, NAVI, Fnatic and LYON. His contract runs through Nov. 16, 2026, and G2 has not reached an agreement with him on an extension.

Some of the discussions included potential contract terms, but no agreement with another team has been reported. G2 offered BrokenBlade a new contract several months ago, though negotiations have not produced a renewal. Remaining with G2 is still possible, but a departure is currently considered more likely.

G2 has contacted Team Vitality about Kaan “Naak Nako” Okan as a possible replacement in the top lane. The discussions are not close to an agreement, leaving G2 without a finalized top laner for the 2027 season.

Linas “Lyncas” Nauncikas is expected to replace Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan in the jungle next season. G2 has not officially announced either the expected jungle change or its talks involving BrokenBlade and Naak Nako.

BrokenBlade joined G2 from Schalke 04 at the end of 2021 and is the roster’s second-longest-serving player behind Rasmus “Caps” Winther. He has won 12 LEC titles with G2, including four in 2024 and all three LEC competitions in 2026.

G2 finished second at First Stand 2026 and reached the MSI semifinals. Its Worlds 2026 campaign ended in the Swiss Stage with a 1-3 record. The team lost to Dplus KIA, Top Esports and Hanwha Life Esports.
